ABOUT
The Open Air, Open Mic at Josie Porter Farm is held every other Wednesday 6-10pm from June Through October!
Nestled and immersed in our lush, green Appalachian hills and historic farmland, we're just minutes from Stroudsburg, PA and the Delaware Water Gap in the Pocono Mountains.
We're looking forward to continuing this event that is quickly becoming a months-long, summer tradition, all in the spirit of celebration, community, collaboration, music and the arts. And of course, the organic nature of our hosting biodynamic farm at Josie Porter!
Musicians & Performers:
All styles of music & expression welcome! Full backline provided including drum kit, bass amp, guitar amp, mics/stands, and stage lights. Please feel free to bring your own mics, amps, or any other gear & equipment if you'd like.
Signups will start at 6pm each night!
* Important notes on signup format:
To encourage and ensure spots to play for everyone, specific spots on the list will be dedicated and reserved for first time performers of the Open Air, Open Mic.
There will also be a "2 weeks on, 1 week off" policy where we ask if you've played two events in a row that you take the 3rd one off to allow the opportunity for others to perform.
There will be always be a wait list in case the main list does not fill up though, and we often pull from that list to fill up the evening, so we encourage you to still come out regardless!
Artists:
All visual artists are more than welcome to come showcase your work for display or for sale. Members of Pocono Arts Council will also be onsite with a pop up art gallery.
Flow artists are always welcome to spin, hoop, dance and contribute to the space however you wish! We all contribute to the space and the moment together at this collaborative and festive event, so please help us spread the word, and have fun creating the moment with us!
Photographers and creative content creators are always welcome to help photograph or take video of the event and we'll help promote your work and your business!
Beverage, Food, and Craft Vendors:
* Local beverage and food vendors will be onsite for each event. Please check in beforehand for specifics!
* The farm store will be open for each event with a wide variety of organic and local goods.
Check their online shop for availability: tiny.one/JPFarm
Any style of craft or artisanal vendors welcome. Vending space is limited however, so please reach out if you are interested in setting something up, or find us beforehand at the event for further direction. Vending fee is $15 for each 10x10 space.
(*Supply and vendors subject to change).
**All non-vendor provided alcoholic beverages strictly prohibited in accordance to insurance and state regulation. Thank you for your understanding!!**
Seating, the space, and the weather:
Seating is limited so please BYO chair or blanket to spread out at a safe distance on the lawn. There's also a few good hammock trees nearby!
This will of course be weather dependent, but we'll always try our best not to cancel. We'll have a few canopies set up if there’s a chance of rain, but consider bringing your own canopy for your group if there's a chance of passing showers!
Check the weather beforehand and pack any extra layers or rain gear if needed, as well as bug spray, lights, anything that glows, and any other personal items that would make your time outside more enjoyable for the night.
Friendly leashed pets, lawn games, frisbees, hula hoops, etc. are all more than welcome!
This is an all-ages event, just please be mindful of the parking lot and cars driving through.
Covid Precautions:
We continue to take the ongoing risks of Covid-19 seriously and are hosting these events with the presumption of self-responsibility of all patrons.
If you are feeling sick, please stay home and consider getting a Covid test. By attending this event you are agreeing to the terms that the farm and event organizers are not liable for any illness or injury.
Our INTENTION is to offer this space to relax, unwind, to create and celebrate the moment together, to showcase local talent and crafts, to meet and support our neighbors, to network and promote creative work, and to feel invested in and part of something bigger!
We believe something profoundly awesome happens when we work together in achieving these common goals through the diversity of talents and backgrounds that we all share as a community.
This is and always will be a community-driven, non-profit event! Your donations help keep us going and growing, so please look out for the tip basket and consider supporting or getting involved to help out!
Big ideas always welcome
Humbly hosted and curated by Brit and Kenny play Music, Grant Wagner, LUCA music, and Josie Porter Farm.
We'll see you at the farm everybody!
